bring eric carle home

Eric Carle is among my most favorite children's book authors and artists. I have two copies of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," another of "The Grouchy Ladybug," and I gave Brad "Slowly, Slowly Said the Sloth" for his birthday once. I wouldn't mind having many, many more.

I stumbled upon the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art yesterday, which is an awesome idea in and of itself. But for those of us who don't live in Massachusetts, there's also an online shop where you can pick up lithographs.

I wish I had the "Two Crickets" ($250), "Locust" ($250), and "Plow a Field" ($125) signed limited-edition lithographs.

I love those books, it's been a long time since I've read Hungry Caterpillar. I might have to go buy it for the impending little one.

When I worked at the Children's Museum they had a movie about Eric Carle and how he creates his books. It is really neat how he does it and fairly simple as well.

That would be awesome for a children's playroom. But for now, I'll have to just enjoy the books.
