i heart classico

This is my favorite ice cream of all time. As my mom says, Gelato Classico is better than gelato in Italy. I can't help but kind of agree: the creamy substance with its taffy-like texture melts in your mouth and is packed with flavor. My two favorite flavors are Mango sorbet and Coppa Mista--which is a tasty fusion of almond, chocolate and pistachio.

Our hearts had been aching for Classico ever since Lane moved from Palo Alto--which left us with no free place to stay, and no more visits to the Classico there. We were already down and out from Gelato Classico's closing on Scottsdale Road in Arizona. So you can imagine our surprise and joy when Ashley spotted the classic "Classico" sign as we enjoyed getting lost in Old Town Scottsdale on Friday afternoon. Eight years later, we learn that Classico had just moved one street over. I thought Mom might shed tears of happiness. If you live nearby, go! The address is 3902 N. Brown Avenue.

You can also see if there's a Classico near you right here. (Utah used to have one back when Cineplex Odeon in Holladay was the hot new theater, but somewhat impossibly, our community didn't support it.)

When I first got married we lived really close to old town Scottsdale and we fell in love with this gelato shop. Even though it is boring, the vanilla bean is awesome!

Thanks for the comment also. My younger sister goes to school in Utah so I love checking "Your Heart Out" to give her ideas on hip places to check out!

What a great treat! Even better for me since we are a few short minutes from Scottsdale. James and I will have to check it out.

You should check out the G-spot gelado near scottsdale as well. It is super good.

Oh, happy day! I am in serious gelato classico deprivation since leaving Palo Alto. (GC tip: the store in Palo Alto makes its own fresh ginger gelato, which is rich and refreshing all at once. Yum!)

Thank you Ali and Ashley for finding Gelato Classico in Arizona once again! Now we have one more reason to go there.
