workshop

The workspace of a master, wonderfully orchestrated. Anything can happen here, amid smells of metal, oil, fertilizer, wood, Wyoming and aging aluminum cans. The creation of a man who has made tires, caught fish, digged ditches, driven trucks, mined coal and copper, set sprinklers, roped calves, operated filling stations, stuffed turkeys, fixed lawn mowers, and brought light to what I like to think were many dark homes. I could stay here a long time.

A man who learned how to work, and never forgot.

I adore these tough and scratchy hands.

I love things of comfort like this. Especially when it comes to Grandparents. Sweet post. Welcome back :)

such a wonderful tribute to your grandpa. a perfect and unlikely place for a photo shoot. it's so beautiful.

i am so glad you could spend spring break reconnecting with the family. i know how important they are to you.

the photo of him holding the baby is a keepsake.

Great pics, Ali... Your family will love these keepsakes. (Makes me want to dig around my Grandpa's workshop, too.)

Oh, the smell of that workshop brings tears to my eyes. No matter where the workshop moves, that Wyoming workshop smell follows. I wish I could bottle it up and keep it forever.

You are so sweet and nostalgic Ali! I admire people who can still appreciate their families and history when everything in our world pushes us to want only new things.
