the big apple
I'm heading east in a few days to peruse, dabble in and take by storm the city of cities. It's true; my vagabond shoes are longing to stray.
It's not my first time nor will it be my last, but I'm wondering what little/big wonders my itinerary might be lacking. (I also have two NY dwellers, one of them this little diva, as my hostesses.) But everyone has a favorite find or stop in the Big Apple: please share yours with me below.
I'm already looking forward to this old reliable and all of this. And cupcakes. And Pink Berry. And lots of Polaroids in Central Park, with this song running through and through my head--backdropping my adventures.
We are young. (Click.) We run free. (Click.) OK, that's not what the song really says but you get the idea....

hey my sister celeste is here in new york too! maybe we should all meet up!
I love visiting NY! If you want to shop (or window shop), you can't beat wandering the streets of the West Village and SoHo - they're so fun! And the frozen yogurt at the cafe in the SoHo Bloomingdales is phenomenal (I don't know if they have it at the other Bloomingdales too, but they might).
call me please.
Have fun Ali. I'll be thinking of you!
Oh you are so luck luck lucky!
I love NY. My only secret find is Vim's for cheap converse trainers. But I don't think it's that much of a secret at all.
Have a cupcake for me and remember to keep your teeth nice and clean (song reference...)
lucky you! i can't believe i have never been! have so much fun ali, and post lost of pictures.
I am impatiently awaiting your arrival...
Wow, have fun! I can't wait to return. We loved eating at several places on 9th Ave. One place called Vynl was especially good and fun.
can't wait to hear all about it!
you may already know, but if you plan to go to the MOMA it's free on Friday nights after 4, and of course don't forget Brooklyn!
Perusing in Williamsburg on the weekends is worth while if you have the time. Besides the fun randomness of people selling their "stuff" on the street - there is a flea market on 6th North Street where local artists sell what they're working on (clothes, jewelry, screen print shirts, fun stuff)
The best is that Erica Weiner (www.ericaweiner.com) sells her stuff whole sale there.
oh, and ps. If you want to come to Greenpoint I highly recommend it!

Thank you so much for the tips everyone!
I hope to squeeze it all in. That flea market sounds dreamy.
Hoo-ray! I can't wait for you to get here. You are always great for discovering-ing and NYC has a million stones to overturn.
