i'd rather be
If I could be anywhere in the whole wide world today, it would be picking strawberries under the Arizoney sun with the lady who owns this lovely set of hands. She doesn't agree with me on how wonderful they are. To me, hers have all the markings of wisdom and work and strong will, but retain the image of a true lady. (Oh, those rings.) I will be a happy woman if my little mitts end up looking so perfectly used and useful as hers do.
Or maybe, since we're pretending, if I could be anywhere, I would have those hands wrapped around me. Or better yet, mine around her. I love you, Grandma. I can say with absolute confidence that there is no one in the world quite like you. But Spikey comes closest.
*Just a friendly reminder to remember to call your grandma. Usually, it's exactly what you didn't know you needed.

This makes me cry. I love and long to be with those weathered and purposeful yet always sparkly and beautiful hands.
lines of wisdom and experience.
my, how time passes so quickly.
I love this post. I love the worn look that comes with a life well used. I hope I still feel like that when they are my hands!
