Am so happy for these two. Her unassuming speech stole the show.

I think this is the first real time I've been more excited about the Best Song award than Best Movie!
So happy they won :)

Totally agree. Was my favorite part of the entire show. Both of them are just darling. Whenever she talks, she has something amazing to say.

I didn't see the awards show, but wow, I loved the movie (if you count crying through the entire thing as love). Amazing! I need to buy the soundtrack. Thanks for the reminder! - shea

Yay! It made my Oscars, but that could just be patriotism talking. I saw the Commitments on the weekend too... it was funny to see Glen so changed since then!

AGREED!!! When only he got the chance to speak I was all, like, "What the?!?!?" So I was uber happy when Mr. Stewart brought her back out saying "Enjoy your moment." You bet!

Ditto! She is so fresh-faced and earnest. There is something about them that is just goodness.

wow, i loved the movie and as soon as i finished watching it i downloaded the soundtrack from itunes. i am so happy for them! it was such a wonderfully sweet and endearing movie and i felt the same way watching them perform and then give their speeches when they won! yay for the little guy!

So wonderful, I watched the whole thing waiting for their performance and hoped so much they would win. I wish Glen had let Mar speak first tho, then he would be a true gentleman. She did make up for it with her beautiful words though!

i didn't really enjoy the movie, but I loved that they won. I think the song is beautiful and has a great hook.

Couldn't agree more. Her words moved me to tears. I think her sentiment embodies what those awards are supposed to be about: being a craftsman of your trade, having the balls to develop a dream, going for a long shot, having the conviction to bring your vision to life and enjoying the respect & admiration of your community. It's easy to lose sight of that with all the admittedly beautiful red dresses and styled celebs. She was a breath of fresh air.
