ali loves amelie: introducing + delta flight 170

I love Amelie. You love Amelie. So why not dedicate a whole week to breaking down its aesthetic, its beauty, its humor ... maybe we'll even dabble in its very essence. This week at A+C, it's all about Amelie: things we love about it, and things that will remind us of it. Simply because the film is both inspired and inspiring, and never seems to gets old.

I hope we have fun. I hope this is a good idea. Feel free to write in with suggestions to alilovescurtis at gmail dot com.

For starters, Delta is booking direct flights to Paris from my hometown of SLC beginning June 2. Salt Lakers, you can schedule your non-stop trip on Delta Flight 170 right here. You can be skipping up the steps at Montmartre before you know it.

I love everything about this movie! And you're so right - it never gets old. Every once in a while I have it on in the background, while I'm cleaning, working, cooking, etc. I don't understand French, but I always seem to know what part is on. Listing favorite scenes or quotes is always fun! There are endless, but here is one of my favorites: "At least you'll never be a vegetable - even artichokes have hearts."

In honor of this week's dedication to Amelie I am going to watch it again tomorrow on my 2nd to last day of Spring Break. Delightful.

Oh I love this idea Ali. Believe it or not but I have only seen Amelie once, even though it is one of rd's favourite movies and the soundtrack often comes up on itunes. So I think this is a great idea and I can watch it again and experience all the wonder of this movie with everyone.

Amelie is my FAVORITE film of all time. Audrey Tautou is perfect in it. I love all the colors and lighting - and I love her bedroom.

I love this movie so much that when my boyfriend didn't swoon over it as I did upon first seeing it with me, I was actually kind of hurt.

Apparently there is 'amelie' walking guide of Paris on the net somewhere. May be worth checking out. We didn't do it when in Paris but a friend did.

This movie was so utterly charming...and the cinematography is so amazing...the saturated colours just make me so happy. :) I can't believe I don't have it on DVD! I must rectify that soon.

Everytime I see Amelie I notice something new. For me, no matter how many times I've watched it, I still revel in it as much as the first time. I was absolutely hooked the first time I saw it on the IFC and as soon as it was over I marched to my computer and ordered it.

If only everyday could be as fantastic and beautiful as it is in that film! I think I might have to watch it again this week...

Oh I love Amelie Poulin! I think I might have to watch it again tonight. I saw the gnome post and immediately thought of Amelie, then I saw the film location, then Montmartre, then this post. It all makes sense now. I think this is a great idea for blogging,I can't wait to see what's next!

I wanted to write and say hello. I have got to love somebody who would post for a week about Amelie, the most gorgeous movie ever. I think you can easily divide the world into the "Amelies" and the "Ama-whos?". You know? What a great idea!
