here and there

Utah

Colorado

New Mexico

Texas

Oklahoma

Arkansas

Tennessee

The last month has brought me roughly 10,000 miles of travel. Maybe I'm exaggerating (though maybe I'm not) and anyway, that's how it felt so it doesn't really matter. August also brought much fewer home-cooked meals than I am accustomed to, and too many bathroom breaks in convenient stores and aboard trains. Despite my lack of friends/family/acquaintances, I've enjoyed the companionship of C the most. And now I'm in the business of making my new home just that: my new home. I'm committing. Getting comfortable. Testing grocery stores and laundromats.

Above is a glimpse at the first 2,000+ miles, made by automobile with gas prices at their peak, and with a musical backrop of mix CDs compiled by our totally awesome friends who stocked us up for the trip---and who also do a good job of keeping us cool, and making us happy. (You guys are the best.)

The last stop was Virginia, where I was too busy/excited/relieved to take even one passenger seat photo. But here we are.

I am so happy to hear you made it safe and sound.

I have a city crush on DC. I lived there for the Fall of 2003 and I find it to be a truly romantic city. There is always something going on in that city.

Enjoy! We've missed you!

Welcome back! East Coast Rules!!!

Pretty soon you better have some pics of NYC to add to the collection :)

My fav was Arkansas--who knew it was so lush? Like some kinda southern states jungle.
