Stop No. 4: Santa Margherita Ligure

Though it's not incredibly close, we called Santa Margherita homebase for a few nights during our Cinque Terre time. This Riviera town sprawls down the green hillside in flashes of pink, white and yellow stucco and then spills into ocean. We liked to walk oceanside at dusk and watch kids swimming in the harbor. Then we went to bed early due to tourist exhaustion.
