Stop No. 7: Rome

We took Rome by storm. We only had .5 days there and I'm proud of all we got to see/do: Pantheon, Colosseum, Capitol Hill, the Forum, Spanish Steps (my fave), Trevi Fountain, St. Peter's, Dolce Vita Stroll, etc. It ended up being one of our favorite (half) days. Everyone says Rome is overrated, but I totally disagree. I think it's super fun. My favorite part was sitting in front of the Pantheon, sharing a caprese with C, and then gelato as the sun went down. The perfect way to end our trip.

Thanks, Rick Steves! You came in awfully handy, even if every other tourist was reading you, too.

I am a huge Rick Steves fan -- my husband and I used his travel guides when we went to Venice, Florence and Rome in Sept for our honeymoon. Eventually I'll post pics from our trip on my blog!

When were you in Italy? Your photos are fantastic and bring back great memories of our trip.

Wow. There's two places in the world I would love to visit more than anywhere else:
1. Greece
2. Rome

I just watched a PBS show on Roman architecture last week and was absolutely blown away. And it made me want to see it in person that much more!

The only city that is overrated in Italy is Napoli. I loved Rome too! I can't say it enough: love the photos!

Ok, you so don't know me, but I had to leave a comment. I have lately come across your blog more and more and I love reading it. Stalkerish, I know. Anyway, I love your Italy pictures. My husband and I went to Italy this past March (Siena, Florence, Venice, Cinque Terre)and Rome 3 years ago and it seems like we hit all of the same spots (I think I have some of the same pictures). Everyone told us Rome was overrated as well, but we loved it. My favorite was the Spanish steps at night. I loved people watching there. Good times. Your pictures remind me of my trip!
Anyway, I never leave comments, but I thought I'd say hi. Color me brave!

I'm using Rick Steves to plan my trip to London. It's very informative and it seems more user-friendly than other guidebooks.

Oh my gosh, didn't you just love it?!? I was amazed by the city and although I don't think I could live there I definitely want to go back and visit. I fell in love with the Pantheon and also with the fountains all over the city that you could refill your water bottle with :) Those clever Romans!
