art wall guide

One of my (many) projects this weekend is to whip up an art wall, which will be a challenge since the wall I'm planning on spiffing up is made of hard plaster. Yikes. Because I'm not very good at knowing how to compose space wisely (and to make things easier on myself) I'm going to follow this art wall roadmap Jessica made for YHO. Wish me luck.

Good luck! This is also a project that I've really wanted to complete. Can't wait to see the end result!

I wish I had the motivation to do an art wall but I think you'll do well. (: Take photos of the outcome.

Good luck! I spent a lot of time filling holes before I felt my wall was right and I still occasionally look at it and wonder, what if that one were up an inch or two!

Show us the finished result!

i did very similar wall art. i live in a very old home with all plaster wall too.
i used those Command Strips by 3M. they work great and i have many very heavy frames. everything has stayed up! it's been over a year! and the best part, no holes in the walls!
good luck with your project.

Oh goodie--I'm excited to see how this turns out to see if I can copy it. Wouldn't be the first time :)

Martha gave me this tip, in case you need another: I always cut out pieces of paper that are the size of the pics I plan to hang. Then I tape them to the wall, and hang the pics on top of them. They rip off easily.
