hello richmond: picasso at vmfa

picasso

A few weeks my mom treated me to the Picasso exhibit, visiting Richmond (one of only 7 U.S. cities, go Richmond!), from the Musee National Picasso in Paris. Above are two of my favorite works, created when he was on a more classical bend. I want a painting of Oscar in a harlequin costume.

Go see, and then have lunch at the Museum Cafe and enjoy it on the patio. It will be one of your favorite afternoons. Art plus family plus lunch al fresco have a way of doing that. I love having a mom who loves art.

Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musee National Picasso, Paris, is on through May 15 at the VMFA. Admission is $20; tickets here.

I love that this came to Richmond! Interesting, there are lots of harlequin patterns in his later modern stuff, too.

That's such a sweet excursion. What are you doing for your Mom for Mother's Day? :)
