still having trouble

Ugh. Just when I want to start blogging more and get excited about taking photos, Photoshop goes crazy on me. (And no, I can't blog without Photoshop in case you were wondering. I just don't work that way.) The problem is ongoing. My photos look great on my cameras and in iPhoto, but once they're in Photoshop, it's pixelated heaven---like they were taken with a camera phone.

I think I'm going to have to uninstall and reinstall the software. Does anyone have any advice on this? I'm scared I'll mess everything up.

Many thank yous.

  3. before uninstalling, you may want to deactivate your photoshop serial number (I think it's under help>deactivate). then when you reinstall you won't have any issues with the serial number already in use. yes, I know from experience :)

so weird about the pixelation - hope you get it figured out!

If you have Photoshop set as your external editor in iPhoto, open iPhoto and go to:

    Preferences | Advanced

...and check the box that says "Use RAW when using external editor."

    Does that make a difference?

  6. Good luck--I miss your photos. If it makes you feel any better, your pixelated photos look better than my good ones!

  11. We had our own little photoshop nightmare a few weeks ago. Sifting through it, but currently using Aperture instead. Love it!

i think this was happening to me. i am not very techie but I found that it was saving the edited picture in a very small file. when you go to leave the edit page try upping the jpeg and file size before you save it. i can't quite remember how i went about resolving it, but i think it went something like that. (i got a mac and haven't gotten the photoshop for the mac yet, so i'm a little foggy.) good luck!
