disassembling december

I'm getting around to cleaning up my blog before I clean up my house. Yep, my little Christmas tree is still up--lights, ornaments and all. Just no more presents. I think I've become emotionally attached (again)--the tree symbolizes a favorite time of year that I'm not sure I am ready to retire. Ah well. I best go pull out the boxes....

My December playlist is coming down, too. But January's will be growing throughout the month. You'll see that "California" made the list again, this time covered by I-never-would-have-guessed Mates of State. It was featured on "The OC's" surreal "Chrismukk-huh?" episode and fit very nicely with the general time-stopping, reality-blurring atmosphere.

I've said it before and I'll say it some more: "The OC" features the best music on television. And that's saying something, these days. "Grey's" came up from the rear with a killer soundtrack and the sound backdrop in the previews for the season premier of "24" are pretty good, too. I didn't even know they used music on "24." Huh.

Plus, for like the fifth year in a row, my so-cool friend Emily just gave me her much-anticiptated 2006 mix (and some cool bracelets and earrings). See why I don't like Christmas to end?

I know why! It's because your tree is so dang cute! Plus, in December there's always something to look forward to. So, that's why we need to start mix club back up, or have a girl's night where you can catch me up on 'The OC!'

I want to be included in the OC catch-up, seems like I've missed a lot lately. I like the revamp of the blog ali...looking forward to the January play list.

Uh, Ali, hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I just read an article that your beloved 'OC's' last episode is February 22nd? Have you heard these rumors, too?

Where did you read said article, and what are their sources? I know that The OC only had 16 episodes on tap (so far) for this season, instead of the usual 22 for any series, plus they have averaged 25 every season so far...thusly, that only takes them into Feb, causing much speculation on the future/direction of the show. But this is news to me...sad news indeed.

Crap. The news is true. I just confirmed it. I shall blog soon.

Rachel Bilson herself kind of let the cat out of the bag in an article in Teen Vogue (when she was on the cover). She said she didn't see it lasting another season ... so I have prepared myself. All the more reason to buy up dvds!
