making me happy today

I went to bed last "night" at 1 a.m. I woke up at 4 a.m. to catch my flight that left at 6:10 a.m. Factor in .5 hours in getting cleaned up and packed up, another .5 hours in getting to the airport, and 1 hour sitting in the airport because you're supposed to get there an hour early, and you'll see why I had more of a nap than actual slumber.

Then add in a six-hour flight to Phoenix with a 1-hour layover and another 1.5-hour flight to Salt Lake, add 4 hours of back-aching, neck-cramping "sleep" and you might see why I'm a little grumpy. And don't even get me started on leaving Ashley and her cute little family, i.e., Max, my little "amour, crush, darling, dear, honey."

So when I got home and flipped through the pages of my fabulous Kate Spade calendar to see what I needed to be doing for the rest of the afternoon (other than catching up on my sleep), I was so happy to come across this so-cute collage of pet names. Of course, the "Maxine" detail that makes up the "o" in "toujours" is my favorite quirky part.

I'm convinced that my Kate Spade calendar needs to come with a mast head. I terribly want to know who drew up these to-die-for monthly collages. Could it really have been Ms. Spade herself? I think not. I am convinced that this would be a perfect job for Marta. Or maybe even myself, on a good creative day.

The friendly and inspiring quote on the opposite page reads: "Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart." --Victor Hugo

Amen to that, sisters. And brother Hugo.

Ugh. I sympathize. I'm worthless the day after a trip. I love your notebook, and the quote you shared. I'm going to put it on the chalkboard in my kitchen to help me think sunny thoughts.

Good luck getting back into the swing of things.

Ali, you know I'm such a sucker for a great calendar book---I've got to see this one! I already have mine for this year... but it's really taking me a while to adjust to it.

Ali,
{You are too kind.}

Welcome home! What a fun idea, a birthday surprise in Boston. What could be a better way than to celebrate with your sisters?!

What an adorable calendar too, leave it to Miss Spade. Oh how I wish I could work in her office for a bit, be her best friend, bounce ideas off each other and of course meet talented Mr. Andy.

Do it Marta! Yours are the only collages I have seen that merit mass consumption. I'm serious...I told you I shed a tear when I saw the one you made for my wedding soiree...and I wasn't lying.

BTW, these little lovely address books are on sale for 1/2 price all over the web right now. I think I might have even seen them on Anthropologie's website. Can't imagine why they haven't all been snatched up yet...I love mine the mostest.

They were sold out already on all the websites I looked at. If you know of one where they're available, do tell!
