built by wendy + me + you

I'm pulling out my sewing machine.

Sorry if this is old news to anyone other than me, but I just discovered that Built By Wendy and Simplicity paired up to release a line of Built By Wendy patterns, which is perfect because I simply can't afford to buy her attire that I love so much in-store.

Get started here and here. And thank you, Wendy!

Aren't these great? I bought the coat pattern to have someone help me make it but I haven't done it yet:)

What a fun idea! The only thing I've sewed is a pillow case, an apron, and a 3-armed t-shirt... Could you be my coach?

i've been wanting to start sewing my own clothes. it's so liberating to have that much control over what you wear. it looks difficult though and i need to purchase a sewing machine. on my to do list...

I try desperately to like her stuff, but when I went to the store this weekend in Williamsburg, it was just sooo overpriced and unimpressive. I wanted a little empire waist jacket, but for 146 dollars it just wasn't worth it!

These patterns are cute and I they don't look too complicated to make. I confess that I went to Fashion School and that I can actually sew ok, it's just that I don't. I love to go to the fabric shop and buy fabric and that's about where it ends. But it's starting to build up now so I think I'm going to try and get motivated and do some sewing too!

I've never tried using a pattern, but would love to give it a shot. Let's do it together. Sewing is always more fun with friends!
