cloudscapes and cc

I've been cleaning out boxes and drawers little by little over the last week or so. Aside from the tedious sorting-and-filing job that results, this also means coming across some fun relics, including a bundle of postcards from various friends and acquaintances to a woman named Geneva Anderson. I picked them up at a curiosity shop a while ago and they struck a chord. Maybe it's because her name sounds like my grandmother's.

I like this one. It reads:

You need not fear, all the confidence you have ever put in me will be kept because of what we have been to one another. So your mind can be at rest, if you intend going on and doing as you have done, do not come down to see me any more, you know my nature and know how jealous I am of everyone. Remember, don't come again if you are not going to be different. -C.C.

It's so nice to finally have a scanner.

That is really fascinating. I wonder what the story is. Are the other ones as cool and interesting?

I would love to know the story of these words. Who was she writing to? What had they been through? What did this person do that she wanted to be different.

I love history. Thanks for sharing.

So intriguing! And putting it on a postcard for all to see... even more so. I love poking my nose into the lives of others and filling in the holes and blanks myself....
