everyone loves photography

Or at least people using cameras. My friends and I recently held a little discussion about how, perhaps thanks to the digital age, photography is (becoming) everyman/woman's art form. It definitely worked on me, which is why film photography is so cool ... and maybe a little bit more of a true art form. That's just my opinion at the moment and I still have oodles of respect for the digital variety.

I have a few vintage-y camera tucked in nooks and crannies and placed on shelves in my home. But using cameras as props in photoshooots is becoming popular, too. I, for one, like to see photos of people using cameras. I also like to take photos of people using cameras. It kind of works as a story within a story.

i agree, film photography is a true art! i also have a little collection of old cameras... i am planning to find the film (hopefully) that goes into them and see if they still work.

Well, now film photography has become trendy. I have been taking photos with my dad's old Mamiya-Sekor 500 TL even since I was 10. He gave the camera to me when I was 18.

But I also have a digital camera and it saves me a lot of money. I used to think it would ruin the art of photography for me but it hasn't. I can actually take more pictures and experiment since I am not worried about cost.

I also have some vintage cameras around my house but it is just because my boyfriend and I wish we could have been born in another year.

i am quite a new reader to your blog and you never fail not to inspire me.
i love these photo's, and i do love my film cameras. my mum gave me her 35mm canon slr a few years ago and i adore it, almost as much as i love my holga's 120 shots. And developing the shots has something special - i love not knowing what i'll find.

I learned photography on my dad's old film SLR in high school. I really miss going through the developing process in the darkroom, it added something to the photos that digital is lacking. But I do love digital! I'm going to dig out my dad's film camera and try it out again.

Ah, yes. Hooray for photography! I love all of your images...they are oh so pretty. Someday when I get a camera of my own I'll start up again. I'm finding it hard to share a camera, or 7 for that matter.

film is great...nothing beats a good holga if you ask me...

also the creative process that takes place in a darkroom is fantastic there is no denying that.

i love digital though. i think that the digital age has just brought more attention to photography and there is nothing wrong with that. my life changed with my first digital camera but i will never abandon film, if anything i have a new found appreciation for it.

I believe that you either have a 'good eye' or you don't. Doesn't matter what kind of camera, how expensive or film/digital. This is why all photography is still an art form of the few, even though everyone can do it.
