where i am
I would like to check in more often. I would like to share more pictures. I would like to sit down and put in writing how much my life has changed in the last two weeks. But I can't seem to pull myself away from the little body that greets me by my bedside every morning (and a couple times throughout the night), and his changing table, or that brown rocking chair, which has already proven to be a lifesaver. Along with his soothie pacifier.
I love finally putting Oscar's little nursery to good use, and can't seem to get away from it. But there's nowhere I'd rather be.
And for those feeling the crunch of the recession, I'm here to tell you that an entire nursery can be put together for well under a grand. Especially if your husband will make your sheets for you. :) All the things to fill drawers and baskets ... now that's another story.

We're with you in spirit. Give wee Oscar a hug for us!
Pretty little room! I could spend a decent amount of time in a room so restful. staring at a cute little face all swaddled in blankies!

Ali, this is darling! I love the Red Balloon poster of course:) It must be wonderful to have Oscar in your life.
You {even} have a red circle to show where you are. Nicely done.
Your color palette is excellent, and I especially am taken with the framed poster of Le Balloon Rouge. (Per your previous post) Oscar is a beautiful little one, heartfelt congrats : )
Such and adorable nursery! Enjoy every little moment with your babe. So precious!
His nursery is darling!
What a peaceful, pretty room. So happy for you!
I love the nursery. You've got great style. There's nowhere I'd rather be than my baby's nursery too. Such a sweet place, and the setting of such sweet memories...

SO SO SO cute. I wish I could put mine together, but it looks like we will be moving um, well, right around the time I'm due. FUN!! Anyway NOT about me, about you. I am definitely inspired by the beauty and simplicity of your little oscar's room:)
Lovely. What is the the beautiful paint color?
I am completely in LOVE with your nursery. I'm saving this pic as inspiration for the day that I'm lucky enough to have my own. Thanks and congratulations!
I love it, SO MUCH! Mint greenish and red are one of my fav. color combos, and I've always thought about doing that for a nursery...even though that's a while off yet!
Lovely!
And lovely blog!
you're nursery looks so nice. i love the wall color.
Good work, lovely! Enjoy your time.
It looks wonderful, I love it! I'm registered for that same rocker!
What a pretty little nursery! I too would spend all my days there. Happy mothering!
To answer:
The paint color is Benjamin Moore's "Tropical Pool."
The chair and ottoman are from the Amy Coe collection at Babies R Us. It's not the most comfortable ... nor the least. Wait for a "20% off any item" coupon or one of their "members-only" sales and you'll get both pieces for just over $300. And the ottoman comes complete with storage for books and blankets. :)
Oh my goodness... that is a preciosu nursery! And I adore the name Oscar, so cute.
Such a beautiful room, everything is so neat, tidy and organised (you guys have been busy!) love it!
Hi Ali, I simply love Oscar's room, especially the poster of The Red Balloon. Would you mind if I used the photo on my blog?

Congrats, What sweet post and ROOM!!
Delightful nursery! What a fabulous crib! Please share the details-- where did you find the darling crib?
Your nursery is beautiful!
So many sweet little "firsts" will happen in that wee babe's room- not to mention a bit of mischief later on :).
I love the room- such a great look! Totally kid-friendly, but not cartoon prints or colours. And kudos to you for doing it on the cheap - it's a challenge, but I have found that I love the room that much more for having done it all myself and been creative about it...
Congrats to you and C on baby Oscar!
such a sweet post. in other cultures you get a full forty days before you are even allowed to get out of bed. enjoy this sweet season with your itty-bitty.
That feeling... it doesn't go away. Enjoy this precious time. A gorgeous baby boy. A sweet little space for him. Thanks for sharing (I have the same bookcase/changing table... love it).

Impressive. But I'm not surprised. You have great taste. And I always love to hear about deals and where you found things. Thanks, thanks, thanks!

This post brought tears to my eyes - I remember feeling like that after the birth of my two but it is easy to forget. What a lovely way to remember all your emotions at this beautiful (yet exhausting) time. BTW, he looks adorable!
Enjoy every minute of those days... My children are 7, 10, and 11 ~~ they get so big in a blink!!
Happy Easter :)
