where i am

oscar's nursery

I would like to check in more often. I would like to share more pictures. I would like to sit down and put in writing how much my life has changed in the last two weeks. But I can't seem to pull myself away from the little body that greets me by my bedside every morning (and a couple times throughout the night), and his changing table, or that brown rocking chair, which has already proven to be a lifesaver. Along with his soothie pacifier.

I love finally putting Oscar's little nursery to good use, and can't seem to get away from it. But there's nowhere I'd rather be.

And for those feeling the crunch of the recession, I'm here to tell you that an entire nursery can be put together for well under a grand. Especially if your husband will make your sheets for you. :) All the things to fill drawers and baskets ... now that's another story.

Pretty little room! I could spend a decent amount of time in a room so restful. staring at a cute little face all swaddled in blankies!

You {even} have a red circle to show where you are. Nicely done.

Your color palette is excellent, and I especially am taken with the framed poster of Le Balloon Rouge. (Per your previous post) Oscar is a beautiful little one, heartfelt congrats : )

I love it, SO MUCH! Mint greenish and red are one of my fav. color combos, and I've always thought about doing that for a nursery...even though that's a while off yet!

Lovely!

And lovely blog!

To answer:

The paint color is Benjamin Moore's "Tropical Pool."

The chair and ottoman are from the Amy Coe collection at Babies R Us. It's not the most comfortable ... nor the least. Wait for a "20% off any item" coupon or one of their "members-only" sales and you'll get both pieces for just over $300. And the ottoman comes complete with storage for books and blankets. :)

So many sweet little "firsts" will happen in that wee babe's room- not to mention a bit of mischief later on :).

I love the room- such a great look! Totally kid-friendly, but not cartoon prints or colours. And kudos to you for doing it on the cheap - it's a challenge, but I have found that I love the room that much more for having done it all myself and been creative about it...

Congrats to you and C on baby Oscar!

such a sweet post. in other cultures you get a full forty days before you are even allowed to get out of bed. enjoy this sweet season with your itty-bitty.
