o is for orange

...and also for Oscar, who just turned two. We threw a small party for his birthday and I was really happy with how the cake turned out, if you can't tell. My fountain-of-knowledge friend Maeve introduced me to this cute and kid-friendly cake recipe. I combined it with Magnolia's buttercream to make an orange on orange on orange cake.

Our very picky eater gave it the stamp of approval, even after being spooked by his firecracker of a candle, which was really the highlight for me. I love when he eats happily. And he just started eating clementine oranges.

Happy birthday to my baby love.

Original cake inspiration from here. I mean, seriously.

You are turning into a baker after all! That is adorable. Oscar couldn't ask for a better baking team than you + pam. Too bad I couldn't be there to be part of the eating team :)
