le ballon rouge in slc

Anyone who has read my blog for longer than two seconds knows I love balloons. You're probably sick of hearing about it. But a while ago Lacey told me they would be re-issuing "Le Ballon Rouge" in select theatres and pitter patter went my heart.

The film has served for many a creative project and blog entry (see here and here), but I've never seen it on the big screen. Until now. Starting this Friday, Lamorisse's classics "Le Ballon Rouge" and "Crin-Blanc" will play as a double feature at The Tower at 2:30, 4:30 and 7 p.m. Hurrah!

I think C planted this prize in SLC as part of my Christmas loot. But you can join me. :)
Get thee hence to 900 South this holiday season. Or, if you don't live in the greater Salt Lake City area, see if it's playing anywhere near your hometown.

p.s. Look how cool Joanna's "Red Balloon" finds are. And if you want your own big-and-round balloon, this old post shows where Maeve found those she gifted me with.

!

I was looking for this on DVD last Christmas! I didn't realize it was making a comeback. I saw it on an ancient projector in elementary school and never forgot it. Fantastic.
