5:00 p.m. in Virginia

March 01

It is 5 p.m. in Virginia and I am:

  • Amazed at the muted sunshine pouring in, like it's only 3 p.m.
  • Thinking about a favorite homemade pasta sauce for dinner.
  • So happy Oscar decided to try Clementine oranges again today.
  • Applauding Curtis for cleaning out the Jetta, as I write.
  • Grateful for Whole Foods' sale on air-chilled chicken.
  • Glad I decided to work out even though I loathe it.
  • Trying to stick to a budget. (No Hasbeens for me.)
  • Enjoying the quiet of a bright, early evening.
  • Watching videos of Oscar head-bobbing to Naughty by Nature.
  • Procrastinating waking him from his nap.
  • Thinking I should hang something, anything on these bare walls but know it will take me six months to do so.
Phone image of the sun-striped floor. Thanks to my caffeine fast, I don't feel as bad as that lion looks.

Air chilled chicken! it's pathetic, but that would make my day, too.

I left work at 5 p.m. today and it was *still light out* and I didn't have to walk home in the dark for the first time in months. Loved it.

I can't wait for warm sunny evenings. I'm a little jealous.

i so relate to your last point - my walls are indeed bare and in need of something & it so easily falls to the bottom of the to do list...
